The GE SCS 1700 Sanitary silicone sealant is a one-component, acetoxy cure silicone containing a fungicide to resist the growth of mold and mildew even when exposed to prolonged hot and humid environments.

SCS 1700 Sanitary sealant is useful as a seal around bathtubs, shower stalls, wall fixtures, sinks and other bathroom fixtures including countertops, soap fixtures, air dryers and drains.

SCS 1700, with a joint movement capability of +/- 25% (ASTM C719),
may also be useful in interior and exterior applications for areas prone to mold or mildew growth as well as for grouting a bedding some ceramic tiles.

The SCS 1700 Sanitary silicone is supplied as a paste and upon cure, forms a durable, formed-in-place silicone rubber seal.

SCS 1700 offers primer-less adhesion to many substrates and finishes and may be considered a candidate for use with numerous materials including glass, ceramic, porcelain, tiles, stainless steel, numerous plastics, glazed surfaces, imitation marble, aluminum and may composite materials. Some finishes or substrates may require a primer.
